Membership Process

Membership at Sojourn is not a mere formality but a genuine two-way commitment. It means that you are a part of our family. It means that are committed to each other in love and faithfulness. 

Step 1: Membership Class

Our Membership Class is a place to learn what makes us who we are at Sojourn J-Town. It takes place on a Sunday during the 11 am service. We will send out informational videos ahead of time discussing our mission, values, and the role of membership. During the class you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss membership with one or more of our pastors/ elders. Participation in Membership Class is required to become a member. This class is not a commitment in anyway but simply the first step in the process. 

Step 2: Membership Interview

A Membership Interview is a meeting with one of our church leaders where we get to know you more and provide you a space to ask more questions. This interview is not an interrogation but a conversation about your story, needs, and gifting as you step into our church.

Step 3: Member Installation

Once your interview is completed, and both parties are comfortable with moving forward, you can begin to function as a member. In our next Member Meeting we will introduce you to our church, you will read some liturgy stating your commitment and the church will state their commitment to you as well.
