Our Beliefs

  • The Bible

God, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote the Bible through men and without error. It is authoritative, clear, sufficient, and necessary in all matters of life for followers of Jesus Christ. (2 TImothy 3:15-17)

  • God

God exists eternally as one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  God is both transcendent (above all things in majesty and holiness) and immanent (very near to us and deeply personal). He is to be revered like a great king, yet experienced as an intimate friend (Genesis 1-2).

  • Jesus

Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. Jesus is both fully God and fully man. He is the Son of God who left his rightful place in heaven to become man, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven to redeem sinful people (Colossians 1:13-22).

  • Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is the supernatural agent applying salvation to sinful people, bringing them to new life, living within them, sanctifying them, empowering them to serve others, and sealing them until the day of Christ's return (John 14:16-26).

  • Humanity

God creates all people in His image as uniquely male and female. Because humanity is created in the image of God, every human life is sacred, full of dignity, and significant. God's design for marriage is one man and one woman called to covenant together in holy matrimony. Homosexual behavior, same-sex attraction, and gender confusion are a result of the fall, to be redeemed through the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1-2).

  • Salvation

All humans are sinful and in need of salvation. Salvation is a gift of God brought by grace alone and received by personal faith in Jesus Christ alone (Romans 3:23-25).

  • Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of a new inward reality that a person has been buried with Jesus in his death and raised to new life with him in his resurrection (Romans 6:3-5).

  • The Church

The Church is a universal group of Christians in all time and space, brought together as the Body of Christ. The local church is a Christian people who have banded together in a particular time and place to follow Jesus (New Testament Letters).

  • Eternity

Jesus will return to earth to judge all people and to rule with His saints forever in the new heavens and the new earth. Those who are in Christ will receive fullness of life and joy, be resurrected to a new body, and will live forever in the presence of God. Those who do not trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins will receive everlasting punishment and will be banished from the presence of God in hell forever (Matthew 24:27-44; Revelation).
